All Class Wrestling Showcase Discontinued

Coaches, Wrestlers, Families and Supporters,

As the 2015-16 FHSAA season kicks off, we regret to announce that the Florida All Class Wrestling Showcase will not be held this year.

When American Dreams Foundation developed and announced the All Class Wrestling Showcase in 2011 we had a vision of seeing all three FHSAA division champs battling it out to prove who’s truly number one in Florida.  This also gave us an opportunity to support the best of the best student athletes – State placewinner caliber wrestlers – as they pursue their educational pursuits beyond high school.  We are proud to announce that nearly $300,000 was awarded to participating, qualified athletes in the four years of the Florida All Class Wrestling Showcase.

Unfortunately, broad support from the top athletes and programs never materialized. While we did witness some great bouts – a few state final rematches and some state champ matchups – the overall turnout was not sufficient to warrant holding the Showcase any longer.

We are reviewing ways to continue our support for top caliber Florida wrestlers, and will still be sponsoring the All Star (CFWA/SoFlo) Disney Duals squad, which last year finished 3rd and brought All American honors to Florida.

We are also exploring alternate scholarship opportunities and the future possibility of establishing a true All Class Tournament in some form that ensures that a large majority of  the best wrestlers participate.

Our sincere thanks go out to Coaches Palazzo and Bird, all the Lake Highland, CFWA and Osceola families and all the coaches, parents and athletes who supported the All Class Showcase.

Good luck in your future wrestling season!

Larry and Patrick White, American Dreams Foundation

Here are testimonials from previous All Class events:

Our family has always been a great supporter of the All Class Showcase.  We believe in the idea of the best wrestler from each of the State Class Levels getting a chance to wrestle.  This is a chance for all of the wrestlers to get an opportunity to prove who the true champion on the mat is.  The Prince family began participating and attending at the All Class Showcase for the competition, and quickly found out that the All Class Showcase is much more than just wrestling.  The All Class is a celebration of the Florida wrestling community.

Having a competition that tests athletic skill and then rewards academic pursuits is exactly what we as a family choose to support.  For our boys wrestling has always been a means to a better education.  The boys have worked towards the goal of gaining an education that will prepare them for life.  Through wrestling the twins were able to gain access to academic institutions with strong D1 wrestling programs and that focus on academic excellence.  The All Class Showcase’s scholarship program has helped to encourage the boys in their academic pursuits.  Jared and Connor Prince will continue their wrestling and academic careers at the US Naval Academy.

“The opportunity to compete with the best wrestlers in our state across all three classes is amazing. The generosity extended by the American Dreams Foundation in providing awards for college is an opportunity no one should pass up. Thank you to all who make this possible.”

Giovanni Jiovenetta

“I hope all eligible state place winners participate in this event. The generosity and commitment of the American Dreams Foundation is an amazing opportunity. No entry fee, free wrestling gear, an opportunity to compete with the best in class and amazing first class awards. And best of all…scholarship awards. My son Gio received a $3,000.00 award to continue his education. Don’t pass this up.”

“Amazing program! Thank you for the encouragement and support for our wrestlers!”
